Marcharse de Erasmus no implica desconectar por completo de tu país de origen. Hoy todos podemos mantenenos al corriente de la actualidad internacional desde cualquier punto del mundo con tan sólo un clic. Navegar por la Web facilita la transmisión de información de forma rápida y directa. Además es el mejor método para mantener el contacto con familiares y amigos, arrinconando aquellos tiempos de locutorios y largas colas para hablar por teléfono. Incluso se está desplazando ya el uso del móvil, que supone un gran coste tanto para el que llama como para el que recibe la llamada. Hoy en día empleamos el skype para hablar de forma más "personal", las redes sociales facebook o tuenti que "chivan" de tu estado, twitter si el reloj aprieta, o el messenger para largas y tendidas conversaciones.
Volviendo al núcleo universitario en Elche, los estudiantes italianos Erasmus siguen la actualidad deportiva de su Italia a través de blogs y páginas web, de ellas, ellos mismos destacaron:

Even you are moving and mobile use, it is a huge cost both to the caller as to who receives the call. Today we use the skype to talk more "personal" social networks facebook or tuenti that "scoop" your state, twitter if no time, or the messenger so long and hard talks.
